Job summary

The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Parking Operations Supervisor to oversee the operation and maintenance of municipal parking facilities, including security staff and contracted security. You will supervise the team, plan preventive maintenance, and help manage the division’s annual budget while ensuring strong customer service.

Ideal candidates will have at least three years in parking facility maintenance with supervisory experience, plus mechanical and electronic knowledge.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in varied construction, maintenance, and repair of parking facilities and property or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of related supervisory experience in Parking Facilities.
• Mechanical and electronic knowledge and experience.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Veterans’ preference documentation as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff, delegates, reviews work, and conducts evaluations.
• Interviews candidates and participates in hiring decisions and union discussions.
• Plans and manages preventive maintenance for City parking facilities.
• Oversees stormwater maintenance and landscape/cleaning contracts.
• Inspects facilities, coordinates improvements, and oversees security staff.
• Manages budgets and participates in annual operating plan development.
• Trains employees and supports emergency and special event operations.
• Resolves customer questions and participates in meetings with staff and vendors.
