Job summary

City of Somerton in Arizona is seeking a general labor/maintenance worker to assist with tasks across City departments under close supervision. You will help with cleaning, maintenance and repairs of municipal buildings, facilities, grounds, streets and parks, and transport items to maintenance shops as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six (6) months of general maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Assists with various manual labor tasks in cleaning, maintenance and repair of municipal buildings, facilities, grounds, streets and parks.
• Performs duties with safety in mind and reports hazards, equipment problems and emergencies.
• Follows safety rules and learns general maintenance methods and operation of tools and equipment.
• Interacts courteously with citizens, visitors and City staff while supporting City goals and policies.
