Job summary

The Maine Municipal Association (MMA) Risk Management Services is seeking a motivated professional to join our Loss Control Department as a Loss Control Consultant. This home-based role partners with Maine municipalities to identify risks, improve workplace safety, protect public assets, and reduce losses through education, training, and risk management consulting.

Consultants manage their own schedules, conduct on-site risk assessments, provide training, evaluate facilities and safety programs,

Qualifications

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Experience in occupational safety, risk management, insurance, municipal government, commercial construction, fire service, or a related field.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, MUBEC, or other applicable safety standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other web-based applications.
• The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and build strong relationships with members.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout Maine.

Responsibilities

• Identify risks and improve workplace safety for Maine municipalities.
• Conduct on-site risk assessments and provide training.
• Evaluate facilities and safety programs; develop practical recommendations to reduce risk.
• Complete property valuations as needed and travel statewide.
• Manage own schedule and travel, with occasional overnight trips.
