Job summary
The City of Conroe is seeking an experienced attorney to represent governmental entities on municipal procurement, contracts, Public Information Act matters, planning and development, and related legal items. The role includes preparing, tracking and analyzing contracts, ordinances and resolutions, and providing opinions to the City Council, Staff and Boards.
The Assistant City Attorney will assist the City Attorney with minimal supervision and may help with economic development, civil service
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Three+ years of municipal law experience, including procurement, contracts, and planning and development.
- Membership in the State Bar of Texas; ability to obtain admission to the U.S. District Court.
Responsibilities
- Advise City Council, City Administrator, and departments on municipal law issues.
- Prepare, track, and analyze contracts, ordinances, resolutions and other legal instruments.
- Attend evening meetings as required and provide opinions to boards and commissions.
- Assist with economic development and civil service matters as assigned by the City Attorney.
