Job summary

The City of Conroe seeks an experienced attorney to represent governmental entities on municipal procurement, contracts, Public Information Act matters, planning and development, and related legal items. The attorney will prepare and analyze contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other instruments, and provide opinions to the City Council, staff, and commissions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Three years or more of progressively responsible experience in municipal law representing governmental entities.
• Membership in the State Bar of Texas and ability to obtain license for practice before U.S. District Court.

Responsibilities

• Advise City Council, City Administrator, department directors and managers on legal issues; provide opinions as needed.
• Assist City Attorney in representing the City in procurement, contracts, PIA matters, planning and development, and related municipal legal items.
• Attend evening meetings and assist with economic development, civil service matters and other duties as assigned.
