Job summary

Qualifications

• JD required; 7+ years in municipal/government law.
• License to practice law in Texas required.
• Ability to research complex legal issues and prepare concise documents.
• Ability to advocate positions responsibly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as chief legal advisor to City Council, City Administrator and department heads.
• Supervise outside counsel for litigation or specialized services.
• Prosecute misdemeanor offenses in Municipal Court.
• Advise on contracts, land use, real estate and economic development matters.
