Job summary

City of Compton invites applications for a Financial Analyst to assist with financial management of city resources, develop financial models, provide statistical analysis, and support budgeting and special projects. Incumbents work under supervision and may supervise staff as assigned.

Key duties include producing routine and ad-hoc financial reports, monitoring budgets vs forecasts, and ensuring compliance with new legislation. Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration or related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of financial research, budget analysis, forecasting experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports identifying trends and performance.
• Monitor performance against budget forecasts and strategic targets.
• Provide guidance to managers for development and review of the annual budget.
• Develop and maintain ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.
• Monitor changes to ensure compliance with new legislation.
