Job summary

The City of Signal Hill is seeking a Management Analyst to support the Finance Department with budget analysis, contract tracking, and risk management. The role emphasizes confidentiality and customer service for internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration and at least two years of professional analytical experience, with municipal budgeting experience highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business, public administration or related field.
• Two years of professional analytical experience involving administrative, management, operations, and budgetary practices; municipal government experience preferred.
• Highly desirable municipal experience in budgeting or accounting.

Responsibilities

• Develop conclusions and make recommendations.
• Prepare detailed and comprehensive written reports; grant applications, Council staff reports, contracts, memorandums and correspondence as required.
• Interpret complex written information including contracts, grant applications, franchise agreements, and the Municipal Code.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and expenditure control.
• Respond to and resolve citizen inquiries and complaints.
