Qualifications

• Professional Engineering License issued by the State of Illinois.
• Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or Business Administration is preferred.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Civil Engineering, including experience in development review, stormwater/drainage design, and public infrastructure design and construction, with at least three (3) years of supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Village Engineer in their absence and administer department policies.
• Review plans, drainage studies, stormwater reports for compliance.
• Assist in planning, design review, and administration of public works improvement projects.
• Prepare specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates; provide technical direction to staff.
• Coordinate field inspections and construction observation for projects.
• Assist with grant and loan programs and reporting.
• Coordinate with utility companies and outside agencies on project matters.
• Act as liaison between Engineering Division and other departments; resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Monitor assignments and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Provide supervisory oversight and performance evaluations for engineering staff.
