Job summary

City of Fort Meade seeks a Code Enforcement professional to enforce municipal codes and land use laws, inspect properties, and educate the public on regulations. You will work with residents, property owners, and city staff to resolve violations and prepare for hearings.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and five years of code enforcement experience, with responsibilities including supervision and cross-department collaboration. Valid Florida driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, political science, management, or related field.
• At least five years of extensive code enforcement experience with public contact.
• Ability to train and supervise technicians and/or specialists.
• Equivalent education/experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Direct the enforcement of City Ordinances and related codes.
• Patrol the city to identify violations and respond to complaints.
• Issue citations or notices and manage lawful enforcement actions.
• Prepare education and status correspondence for the public.
• Plan enforcement strategies and assist in code development.
• Coordinate with City Manager, City Attorney, and agencies.
