Job summary

Farnsworth Group in Illinois seeks a Municipal Civil Engineer to plan, design, and manage water, wastewater, and stormwater projects for local and government agencies. You’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, FE/PE or on-track, 2–5 years of experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil3D. The role blends office and field work in a collaborative, growth-minded culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 2–5 years of Civil Engineering experience or equivalent.
  • FE or PE certification, or expected to be obtained.
  • Experience with IDOT, MFT and local agency projects.
  • Experience with state/local authorities interactions.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D.
  • Office and field work for construction engineering and observation.
  • Strong management, communication, and organization skills.

FarnsworthGroup is seeking a Municipal Civil Engineer in one of the posting locations below. In this role, you will be focused on the planning, design, and management of various civil engineering projects including water/wastewater/stormwater for local and government agencies.

Champaign, Effingham, Normal, Peoria, or Pontiac, IL

What You’ll Do
  • Manage, support and build relationships with clients and agencies
  • Work with a variety of projects for municipal client needs related to water, sewer and streets
  • Conduct field inspections, measurements or calculations
  • Perform condition assessments
  • Prepare and develop construction, design documents and plans
  • Manage projects and programs from inception to completion
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • 2 – 5 years of Civil Engineering experience

Salary Range

Salary Range:$70,000 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
