Job description

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Municipal Civil Engineer to focus on the planning, design, and management of civil engineering projects, including water, wastewater, and stormwater for local and government agencies. This role will support diverse municipal client needs across multiple Illinois locations.

Posting Locations: Champaign, Effingham, Normal, Peoria, or Pontiac, IL

What You’ll Do

• Manage, support, and build relationships with clients and agencies
• Work on municipal projects related to water, sewer, and streets
• Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations
• Perform condition assessments
• Prepare and develop construction, design documents, and plans
• Manage projects and programs from inception to completion

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 2–5 years of Civil Engineering experience
• FE or PE certification, or expected to be obtained
• Experience with IDOT, MFT, and local agency projects
• Understanding of working with state and local authorities
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
• Ability to work both in the office and field for construction engineering and observation
• Management, communication, and organization skills

Salary Range

Salary: $70,000–$90,000, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal and external equity.
