Job summary

The Innovative Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician with at least 3 years of experience to perform a wide range of repair, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks in commercial spaces.

You will inspect, repair, and maintain interior and exterior elements, read blueprints, estimate materials and time, and ensure safe operation while using ladders up to 24 feet and lifting up to 50 lbs. A company vehicle and phone are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician with comparable duties.
• Knowledge of basic interior and exterior maintenance, carpentry and construction methods, repair, steps, ceramic and LVT flooring, subfloors, sheetrock installation, finishing, and painting
• Knowledge of minor electrical: switches, plugs, fans, and breakers
• Knowledge of plumbing: sinks, tubs, water heaters, and drains
• Ability to review needed work and accurately estimate needed time investment, labor, and materials
• Must be able to bend, shift, walk, reach, stand for long periods on a hard surface, work safely using (up to) a 24’ ladder, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be punctual and personable; Ability to work well with others
• Be self-motivated, ability to work independently, and be accountable for work quality
• Reliable daily transportation and a valid driver’s license
• We require a clean driving record and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry work: framing, baseboards, etc. Reading blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
• Taking measurements and calculating material quantities.
• Construct, repair, and install building frameworks and structures from wood and other materials.
• Remove damaged parts or sections and repair/replace with hand tools.
• Move materials around job sites and clean up debris.
• Drywall installation, finish, and repair; tape/plaster and smoothing.
• Inspect and repair plumbing on sinks, faucets, and drains; repair electrical fans, plugs, switches, breakers.
• Inspect interiors/exteriors; general interior repairs like flooring, painting, patching.
• Exterior repairs such as concrete patching, water intrusion, roof repair.
