Job summary

The City of Cooper City seeks a Facilities Maintenance Worker I to perform skilled and semi-skilled work across city buildings, facilities, and parks, including carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC and plumbing. This full-time, on-site role requires reading blueprints and using a range of hand and power tools.

Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent; a Florida CDL Class B license (preferred); CPR/AED certification (preferred); and at least one year of building maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Florida CDL Class B license by date of hire (preferred).
• CPR/AED certification (preferred).
• At least 1 year of building maintenance experience.
• Ability to read sketches/blueprints.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair city facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
• Perform carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and painting tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Estimate repair and maintenance costs and submit to supervisor.
• Operate a variety of tools and equipment.
• Adhere to safety procedures and assist in disaster recovery activities.
