The SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University Department of Facilities Management and Development seeks a full-time Maintenance Assistant to support a range of trades across building systems.

The role involves routine maintenance, minor repairs, and assistance with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry tasks within a university setting. Work includes following supervisor guidance and may include equipment operation and basic vehicle use as needed.

Formación

• Maintenance work requires basic trade knowledge across several crafts.
• Ability to follow supervisor layouts and repair instructions.

Responsabilidades

• Maintains and repairs building systems and equipment across trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry).
• Performs routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical and boiler equipment.
• Operates light construction equipment and may drive trucks as needed.
• Assists in maintaining and repairing doors, locks, and fixtures and helps with painting and decorating tasks.
