Job summary

The position offers exposure to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, and equipment maintenance within a large maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under supervision of a skilled trades worker.
• OR completion of a two-year technical school or equivalent training such as NYS CSEA-P Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program.
• When required to operate motor vehicles, valid New York State driver's license for the vehicle type.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment, performs plumbing and steamfitting tasks, and fixes leaks and fixtures.
• Performs semiskilled carpentry, painting, masonry, and roofing tasks as needed.
• Repairs and maintains electrical equipment, lighting, outlets, and switches.
• Assists with snow and ice control and may operate trucks or light construction equipment.
• Supports building maintenance under supervision across various trades.
