Job summary

Mendoza Companies is seeking a Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations across California and Nevada. You will handle timecard validation, wage withholdings, payroll processing, reporting, and Certified Payroll Reports in compliance with DIR and CBAs.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong numerical aptitude. Collaboration with HR and Office Management is essential to ensure payroll accuracy and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience with certified payroll requirements and documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to produce audit-ready reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Process multistate payrolls for hourly and salaried staff, primarily CA and NV.
• Prepare and upload payroll certifications (CPRs) per DIR and CBAs.
• Validate job classifications and CBAs by employee and project.
• Process salary adjustments, garnishments, and retroactive payments.
• Monitor benefits, fringes, and payment dates.
• Reconcile timecards and work records in Vista and Procore.
• Prepare union and government reports, including fringe summaries.
• Assist with California Prevailing Wage compliance.
• Access payroll records and compile requested reports.
• Create monthly payroll reports for management.
• Support special payroll/HR projects as needed.
• Maintain accurate payroll records.
