Job summary

dfa seeks a skilled maintenance technician to uphold production equipment performance and safety standards. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical/mechanical systems, and support installation of new equipment with a focus on reliability and uptime.

Responsibilities include reading manuals, documenting work, and collaborating across departments to minimize downtime while adhering to GMP and safety guidelines. Prior experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Trade/technical school certification in electrical, PLC/HMI, mechanical, welding/fabrication, refrigeration, plumbing, etc. preferred.
• 2–4 years of maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and related experience preferred.
• Experience with lubrication, material handling, motor/relay control, and process control equipment.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Certification and/or license may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment and related utility systems following safety procedures.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections to assess reliability and performance.
• Read and interpret procedures, schematics, service manuals, and work orders for maintenance tasks.
• Support installation of new equipment and assist operators with training or troubleshooting.
• Complete work orders timely with high quality standards; document all work and required information.
• Use various hand/power tools, meters, and material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain communication with other departments and management about issues affecting production efficiency.
• Stay up to date on new products, equipment, and techniques; identify process improvement opportunities.
• Anticipate parts requirements and follow purchasing procedures to acquire items ahead of tasks.
• Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with all regulations, GMP, and sanitation standards.
