Job summary

The City of Roanoke is seeking a Facilities Trades Worker to support repair, maintenance, and operation of City buildings and equipment. You will work across mechanical, structural, and HVAC systems and assist skilled trades staff with a variety of repair, maintenance, and installation activities.

You will use standard hand and power tools while helping ensure facilities and equipment remain safe and functional.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 6 months of related experience in construction or mechanical environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (mechanical/structural/HVAC/carpentry).
• Assist skilled trades staff with repairs, maintenance, and installations.
• Operate and maintain hand and small power tools; assist with inventory control.
