Job summary

The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance, repairs, and building-system support at the Pittsburgh campus. You will work under the Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance, applying carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related trades to keep facilities running smoothly.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in maintenance trades, and familiarity with PM/CMMS and safety clearances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or journeyman preferred.
• 3+ years experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in related trades.
• Familiar with Preventive Maintenance, Energy Control, Fire Alarm systems, and automated controls.
• Clearances: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal, and Act 33 Child Abuse.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and renovate plant and facilities.
• Install and service building systems and equipment across crafts.
• Perform semi-skilled and skilled work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.
• Service HVAC, sterilizers, laundry and dietary equipment; diagnose issues.
• Respond to emergencies and assist security as needed.
• Maintain logs, run rounds, and complete maintenance orders.
