Job summary

The Carnegie Museums is seeking a Skilled Maintenance technician to perform preventative and on-demand maintenance of MEP systems and related equipment. This role requires hands-on electrical, mechanical, and building management system skills.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, NIULPE PE-2 license and CFC certification, with HVAC/refrigeration experience. Ability to read plans and work varied shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• NIULPE PE-2 and CFC certification required or preferred.
• Extensive HVAC and refrigeration experience preferred; steam distribution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-job training in electrical theory and controls.
• Cooperate with department to meet goals.
• Maintain records of on the job training.
• Establish and maintain relationships with staff and external groups.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies; procurement within budget.
• Keep abreast of new technology and safety standards.
• Observe and report defects and wear on facilities.
