Job summary

The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to support facility operations at 1405 Shady Ave., Pittsburgh, PA. The role includes maintaining building systems, responding to emergencies, and performing preventive maintenance under the Plant Operations Department.

Expect a Monday–Friday, full-time schedule from 11:30am to 8pm, with weekend/on-call rotation as required. A high school diploma and relevant maintenance experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Three years’ maintenance experience preferred.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance and work order systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and renovate plant and facilities.
• Provide electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry support.
• Respond to emergency problems and assist security as needed.
• Maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete preventive work orders.
