Job summary

JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain facility systems across Mechanical, Plumbing, and control systems, ensuring safety and peak performance. You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and associated equipment, monitor readings, and coordinate with outside contractors.

Location: Richmond, VA; 1st shift; no visa sponsorship. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and experience in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing, with strong analytical skills and multi‑skill

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, with two years of experience in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations) with multi-skilled capabilities in others.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose system operations, determine causes of problems, and take corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining facility equipment across Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems.
• Conducting preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and associated equipment.
• Recording equipment readings and adjusting operations; coordinating with outside contractors.
