Job summary

JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer in Reston, VA to support maintenance of base building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety. You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, monitor equipment, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires 4+ years in electrical or HVAC trades, a valid US driver's license, and the ability to work safely with PPE. On-site work, 7:00 am–4:00 pm, with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in electrical or HVAC/refrigeration trades.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to work safely with PPE and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain facility systems in accordance with regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Monitor equipment performance and adjust for efficiency.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies promptly.
• Inspect facilities, identify hazards, and ensure safety procedures.
• Coordinate with outside contractors to meet quality and cost expectations.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours coverage.
