Job summary

Advocate Health in North Carolina is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician/Phlebotomist to support the Reference Lab Testing department. The role covers venipuncture, specimen processing, registration, and handling of diverse laboratory tests.

Positions operate Monday–Friday, 0700–1700, across Concord locations with comprehensive benefits and ongoing training opportunity. Pay ranges from $19.80 to $29.70 per hour, with competitive compensation and total rewards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Phlebotomy certification preferred where phlebotomy is assigned duty.
• Knowledge of lab techniques and procedures used for minor tests.
• Familiarity with lab equipment and testing procedures; ability to operate, clean and sterilize equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collects and/or processes patient blood by venipuncture/capillary puncture accurately.
• Processes nonblood specimens timely and accurately.
• Assists in specimen preparation, receipt, transport, and documentation.
• Performs patient registration and provides courteous phone support.
• Maintains competency with hospital IT and LIS systems and trains others as needed.
• Ensures proper labeling, documentation, and safety compliance for all tests.
