Job summary

Weil Foot & Ankle Institute is seeking a Floating Medical Assistant / Patient Services Representative to provide clinical and front office support across multiple podiatry clinics. The role requires cross-training and travel between Oak Brook, Naperville, Elgin, and Schaumburg locations to cover high-volume clinics as needed.

The position combines patient care, scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk responsibilities, with a primary schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant experience in outpatient setting required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in podiatry/orthopedic setting preferred.
• Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
• Will travel between clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and obtain medical histories.
• Measure vital signs and perform ancillary tests within scope.
• Assist physicians during examinations and in-office procedures.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms; ensure cleanliness and supplies.
• Document patient information in the EMR.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate with providers and staff.
• Greet patients and manage front desk tasks.
• Verify insurance and collect demographics; process check-in/out.
