Job summary

Weil Foot & Ankle Institute is seeking a Medical Assistant to work alongside physicians, taking vital signs, preparing rooms, and assisting with in-office procedures. The role includes managing patient schedules, supporting front desk tasks, and coordinating care within a busy foot and ankle practice.

The ideal candidate has MA certification and clinic experience, strong communication, organizational skills, and a solid foundation in safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification with 2 years in a healthcare position preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; higher education is a plus.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound.
• Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties.
• Customer services skills and knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to gather medical history and update medical records.
• Gather basic vital signs and prepare treatment rooms for exams.
• Verify patient information and assist with in-office procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and set up in-office procedure trays.
• Manage medical supplies and coordinate inventory with operations.
• Take X-rays as needed and support front desk duties when required.
• Support physician and team with patient care activities.
