Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician, provider, and/or a registered nurse.

The role supports patient exams, vaccinations, vital signs, patient preparation, and EMR documentation across multiple sites within the system. Float potential and a strong emphasis on patient care and safety are expected.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and patient interaction skills.
• Basic computer skills required or preferred.
• Clinical competency as verified within orientation and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures in ambulatory care.
• Maintain patient flow and provide clerical support as needed.
• Conduct screenings, charting, and EMR documentation.
• Support infection prevention, safety, and quality/safety standards.
