Job summary

Spectrum News, part of Charter Communications, seeks a Meteorologist to forecast and present weather updates across TV and digital platforms. You’ll join a collaborative newsroom focused on accurate, timely weather stories that inform and engage local communities.

A 2+ year forecasting background and a Bachelor’s in Meteorology are required, with willingness to travel and work diverse shifts. You'll work in a fast-paced environment that values storytelling, scientific rigor, and community

Qualifications

2+ years of experience forecasting and presenting weathercasts.
Bachelor's degree in Meteorology.
Knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical meteorology, and radar systems.
Ability to anticipate situations, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrate enthusiasm in dealing with breaking news.
Willing to travel to cover stories and engage with the community.
Schedule flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Forecast and present weather updates for Spectrum News across TV, digital, and mobile platforms.
Collaborate with the news team to develop compelling, timely weather stories.
Ensure accuracy and clarity of forecasts for diverse audiences.
