Job summary

Spectrum News, part of Charter Communications, is seeking a Meteorologist to forecast and present weather updates across traditional and digital platforms. You’ll join a collaborative newsroom delivering accurate, timely weather stories to keep communities informed and safe.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of forecasting experience, a Bachelor’s in Meteorology, and proficiency with weather graphics, radar, and synoptic techniques. Flexibility for shifts, travel, and breaking weather is required.

Qualifications

• Experience forecasting and presenting weathercasts - 2+ years.
• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology.
• Knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical and radar.
• Ability to anticipate situations, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm in dealing with breaking news.
• Must be open to travel to discover stories in the neighborhood and interact with the community.
• Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts for breaking news and severe weather emergencies; weekends and holidays.
