The Multinational Underwriter is a specialized role within our underwriting practice. In this position, you will be part of The Hartford’s (HIG’s) growth initiatives, focusing on developing and executing a broader multinational risk strategy that supports small, mid-size, and large U.S. domiciled risks. Specifically, in partnership with our home office and regional underwriting teams, this Center role will underwrite Canadian policies, provide subject matter expertise on Canadian insurance laws and regulations to U.S. businesses, assist with projects related to our strategy in Canada, and offer multinational expertise at the point of sale to differentiate HIG’s Multinational Choice offering.
Success in this role requires demonstrated sales and negotiation skills, strategic planning for new business development, account expansion, cross-selling opportunities, and renewal retention. The underwriting scope includes Property and Casualty lines of business.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, or equivalent experience and training.
3+ years of Multinational P&C insurance experience, with a preference for experience working with Canadian insureds.
Proven success in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners.
High energy, resilient self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Goal-oriented with a track record of delivering outcomes.
Ability to challenge the status quo and compete to win.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical thinking skills to assess business problems and recommend solutions.

The position level will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Location:
This role offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement. Candidates living near listed office locations are expected to work in-office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Remote candidates will work primarily from home with occasional in-office visits as needed.
Compensation:
The listed annual base salary range is based on external market analysis. Actual pay may vary based on performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies. The total compensation package may include bonuses, incentives, and recognition. The salary range is:
$66,800 - $142,800
The posted range reflects flexibility in hiring levels based on experience and background.
