Job summary

Atrium Health Mountain Island Emergency Department is seeking a CT Technologist I to perform CT procedures and related care. You will operate CT scanners, monitor patient status, and collaborate with Radiology to ensure high-quality imaging.

You will verify orders, prepare patients, review medical history, and document results. The role requires ARRT or NMTCB certification and CPR, with rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• ARRT or NMTCB radiology certification required with CPR.
• Graduate radiologic technologist with hospital radiology experience preferred.
• Ability to operate CT scanners and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Examine requests and verify orders; refer discrepancies to Radiologist.
• Identify patients and prepare them with explanations of procedures.
• Gather medical history and review EMR for relevant data.
• Own exam from start to dictated results.
• Prepare IV contrast and record type/amount as needed.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist when needed.
• Provide basic patient care and respond to changes in condition.
• Assist Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Access medications/contrast under supervision and follow safety protocols.
• Follow radiation safety standards and report equipment issues.
• Adhere to fire/safety policies and attend required trainings.
• Work rotating shifts, including call backs, holidays, and weekends.
• Operate radiology computer systems, document contrast in MAR.
• Keep work area clean and stocked; assist other staff as needed.
