Job summary

Atrium Health Mountain Island Emergency Department is seeking a CT Technologist I to operate CT scanners and related equipment, document procedures, and assist Radiologists in complex exams. The role requires ARRT certification or NMTCB, BLS, and the ability to work with radiology teams in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, administering IV contrast, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting emergency care as needed within hospital radiology services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized radiologic or nuclear medicine program.
• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and CT registry within 1 year of hire; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Verify orders with Radiologist before exam.
• Identify patient and explain procedures.
• Interview patients and review EMR for history.
• Perform CT scanning from start to dictated results.
• Administer IV contrast per protocol.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed.
• Provide basic patient care and respond to emergencies.
• Operate radiology computer system and document contrast administration.
• Maintain neat, stocked work area.
• Rotating shifts including call, holidays, and weekends.
