Job summary

Atrium Health Mountain Island Emergency Department seeks a CT Technologist I to perform CT exams in accordance with departmental protocols. The role involves operating CT scanners, preparing patients, and documenting procedures for Radiologist review.

The position requires ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and an advanced CT registry within one year of hire, plus BLS. Regular shifts with required on-call may apply.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of patient care for imaging procedures.
• Understands radiation safety principles to protect patient and staff.
• Ability to communicate with patients and care teams during CT exams.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders; questions with Radiologist if needed.
• Prepares patients, explains procedures, and obtains medical history.
• Operates CT scanners and related equipment; administers IV contrast per protocol.
• Evaluates image quality and consults Radiologist for irregular findings.
• Maintains sterile technique and infection control; records contrast administration.
