Job summary

Lochner is seeking a mid-level Transportation Planner/Modeler to support data-driven planning, modeling, and investment decisions for multimodal transportation systems. The role combines traffic modeling, benefit-cost evaluation, and support for grant writing and funding applications.

The candidate will work with Lochner’s team in Southern California, leveraging GIS, travel demand modeling, and reporting to communicate insights to planners, engineers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Urban & Regional Planning or related field.
• 5+ years of work experience in transportation modeling (TransCAD and Synchro).
• Familiar with GIS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Utilize transportation modeling software to develop and maintain traffic models (microsimulation, travel demand).
• Perform scenario analysis to evaluate infrastructure or policy changes.
• Support forecasting of traffic volumes, congestion, and system performance.
