Job summary

NCTCOG's Transportation Department seeks a Transportation Planner in the Land Use and Mobility Options program to support projects at the intersection of land use and transportation, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and Safe Routes to School. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical/quantitative methods (urban/transportation planning, economic development, public administration)
  • One year or less of related work experience
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro for mapping and spatial analysis

Responsibilities

  • Draft guidance documents and recommendations on transportation/land use topics
  • Support evaluation of infrastructure projects submitted for funding
  • Develop multimodal roadway corridors, downtown, and Safe Routes to School plans
  • Assist with data collection and analysis on land use and demographics
  • Create maps and spatial analyses using ArcGIS
