As a Travel Demand Modeler, you will be responsible for:

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze travel demand models to understand how people move within a given area and predict future transportation needs.
• Conducting data analysis and statistical modeling to inform transportation planning and policy decisions.
• Collaborating with transportation planners, engineers, and data analysts to develop transportation plans and policies based on sound data and analysis.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of transportation plans and policies using a variety of performance measures.
• Communicating complex technical information to a range of audiences, including policymakers, stakeholders, and the general public.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest transportation planning and modeling techniques and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders to meet their transportation planning needs.
• Presenting analysis results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contributing to proposals and business development efforts to secure new projects and clients.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Travel Demand Modeler position, candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in transportation planning, civil engineering, geography, statistics, or a related field.
• Experience in transportation planning, modeling, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and technical skills, including experience with transportation modeling software such as TransCAD, Cube.
• Experience with data analysis and statistical modeling.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to a range of audiences.
• Experience managing projects and coordinating with team members to meet project timelines and deliverables.
• Knowledge of transportation planning principles and practices.
• Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
