HDR is seeking an Area Transportation Planning Business Class Leader to guide the Southern California practice. You will oversee a diverse team of planners and engineers, drive staffing, budget, and quality deliverables, and work with senior leadership on strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering or closely related field.
• 10 years of experience in transportation planning.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to lead teams.
• Experience in multimodal planning including auto, transit, rail and non-motorized modes.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture; business development and client relations experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of transportation planners, engineers and related professionals in coordination with Area Transportation Leadership.
• Mentor and develop area staff and deliver quality outputs aligned with client needs.
• Lead staff management, business development, pursuit and management of major transportation planning projects.
• Engage in high-profile project pursuits with extensive client interactions.
• Direct long-range visioning, policy and systems planning, data analytics and multimodal planning.
• Plan and oversee scope development and staffing for multidisciplinary projects.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and strategic planning with leadership.
