Job summary

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is seeking a Transportation Engineer to lead multimodal corridor and intersection projects from concept through construction handoff. You will focus on safety countermeasures and coordinating with internal teams, external partners, and the public to address traffic issues and implement solutions.

Responsibilities include analyzing traffic operations, planning safety enhancements, and conducting post-construction evaluations to measure performance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Evidence of PE licensure and passing FE exam or equivalent required.
• Three years of progressive engineering experience; 4-year degree with substitution options available.

Responsibilities

• Lead corridor or intersection projects from concept to construction handoff.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders and the public on project changes.
• Analyze traffic conditions, conduct safety analysis, and evaluate treatments for effectiveness.
• Review street improvement plans and assess need for safety measures and traffic control.
