Job summary

STV's Transportation team seeks a Traffic Engineering Group Lead in Fairfax, VA or Washington DC with hybrid work. Lead task orders from planning through final design, oversee design production, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality traffic solutions.

Ideal candidate has a PE in Virginia, 8+ years in traffic engineering, and experience with HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and CAD tools. The role includes mentoring staff and supporting business development across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed PE in Virginia or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
• PTOE, RSP, or Virginia Advanced Work Zone Certification a plus.
• Ideally 8+ years in traffic engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience with schedules, budgets, scopes, and staffing plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead task orders and small to mid-sized traffic projects from planning through final design.
• Oversee traffic studies and design plans, including signal design and MOT.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage client relationships.
