Job summary

The City of Seattle’s SDOT is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Planner to lead and advance Vision Zero initiatives. You will guide complex transportation projects, coordinate with engineers, planners, and community partners, and help shape safety policies citywide.

You will oversee research, evaluation, and implementation of traffic-safety countermeasures, and support equity-focused planning while engaging diverse stakeholders to foster safer streets for all residents.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of three (3) years transportation planning or development experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning or related field.
• Proficient with GIS (to create maps and conduct analyses) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Vision Zero safety analyses to prioritize projects.
• Coordinate public engagement workshops and develop outreach materials.
• Develop and monitor the Vision Zero work plan and safety strategies.
• Support grant applications and manage project budgets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the City.
• Monitor scope, schedule, and budget through delivery.
