Job summary

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) Transportation Engineer role sits within the Multimodal Project Delivery Division. You will lead corridor or intersection projects from concept to construction, emphasizing safety countermeasures and multimodal performance to reduce crashes.

You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and communicate changes to address issues. This is a professional engineer position requiring a PE licensure (DC) and experience in traffic

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering program or equivalent with calculus and engineering science.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or combination of education and experience in civil/transportation engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in DC and FE exam or equivalent evidence.

Responsibilities

• Lead corridor or intersection projects from concept development through construction handoff.
• Focus on safety countermeasure analysis, selection and design to reduce injuries across all modes.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders and the public, including officials, to communicate changes.
• Review plans and implement traffic signal systems and safety treatments; evaluate post-construction performance.
