Job summary

The Yuma Metropolitan Planning Organization (YMPO) is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to lead regional transportation planning, programming, and state/federal coordination for YMPO programs. You will supervise complex studies, manage consultants, and drive data-driven policy decisions in partnership with member agencies.

This role requires strong technical expertise, independent judgment, and effective communication with the Executive Board, TAC, and public stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in engineering, transportation planning, or planning field.
• Master’s degree preferred and five years of professional planning experience with supervisory duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of TIP and LRTP.
• Coordinate with federal, state, tribal, regional, and local partners on planning efforts.
• Prepare reports, analyses, and briefings for the Executive Director and TAC.
• Oversee consultant work and manage budgets and schedules.
