Job summary

Meritus Property Group in Tacoma, Washington seeks a Multifamily Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, respond to emergency repairs, and ensure a safe, comfortable living environment for residents. You will inspect properties, repair appliances, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and maintain exterior grounds.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of maintenance experience in multi-family properties, and knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in multi-family properties.
• Proficiency with maintenance tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and maintain safety/cleanliness standards in accordance with applicable local, state and federal laws and company standards.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain and repair appliances, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
• Perform general carpentry tasks, including cabinets, flooring, finish carpentry, door/lock repair, etc.
• Ensure the upkeep of exterior grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot maintenance.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests when on call
• Use Work Order Management system to track and complete maintenance tasks, ensuring work orders are completed in a timely manner and to the resident’s satisfaction.
• Interact with residents, vendors, and on-site staff in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintain on-call availability to respond to urgent maintenance needs as they arise
