Job summary

Meritus Property Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our property management team in Oregon. The role ensures the property remains in excellent condition, providing a safe, comfortable living environment for residents and handling routine maintenance and urgent repairs.

You will inspect properties, perform repairs across electrical, plumbing, appliances, and carpentry, and maintain exterior grounds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in multi-family properties.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Proficient in using maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain and repair appliances, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
  • General carpentry tasks, including cabinets, flooring, finish carpentry, door/lock repair.
  • Ensure the upkeep of exterior grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests when on call.
  • Use Work Order Management system to track and complete maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion and resident satisfaction.
  • Interact with residents, vendors, and on-site staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain on-call availability to respond to urgent maintenance needs.

About the role

We are looking for a talented Maintenance Technician to join our team! This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the property remains in excellent condition and provides a safe, comfortable living environment for residents. This position involves performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing emergency repairs, and adhering to company standards and policies. The technician will be responsible for maintaining various systems and structures within the property, ensuring everything operates smoothly and efficiently.

What you’ll do
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and maintain safety/cleanliness standards in accordance with applicable local, state and federal laws and company standards.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain and repair appliances, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
  • Perform general carpentry tasks, including cabinets, flooring, finish carpentry, door/lock repair, etc.
  • Ensure the upkeep of exterior grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests when on call
  • Use Work Order Management system to track and complete maintenance tasks, ensuring work orders are completed in a timely manner and to the resident’s satisfaction.
  • Interact with residents, vendors, and on-site staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain on-call availability to respond to urgent maintenance needs as they arise
