Job summary

Harbor Group Management Company in Durham, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold the property's physical integrity and safety. You will handle routine maintenance, respond to resident service requests, and support efficient operations across buildings, grounds, and amenities.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of general maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting or appliance repair) and HVAC certification is a plus. On-site role with on-call availability.

Qualifications

• One year of maintenance experience including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, or appliance repair.
• HVAC certification preferred; EPA Type I & II or Universal certification required for refrigerant handling.
• Multifamily (apartment) maintenance experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical and mechanical maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliances.
• Respond to resident service requests promptly and track repairs via work order system.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure safe operation of the property.
• Prepare vacant units by inspections, punch lists, scheduling contractors, and completing needed repairs.
• Maintain amenity areas and common spaces through cleaning and minor painting.
• Manage maintenance tools and inventory and notify supervisors when reorders are needed.
• Inspect contractor work for quality and scope compliance.
• Assist in property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
