Job summary

American Communities in Plano, TX is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to keep our multifamily community safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. The role spans HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, and preventative maintenance.

You will respond to resident requests, perform make-readies, maintain pools and grounds, and participate in on-call rotations. EPA 608 Type II or Universal Certification is required, along with a high school diploma and 3–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• EPA Section 608 Type II or Universal Certification.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably multifamily.
• Strong HVAC and general maintenance skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 25+ pounds and perform physical maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and appliances.
• Respond promptly to resident service requests.
• Complete preventative maintenance, inspections, and apartment make-readies.
• Maintain pools, amenities, buildings, and grounds.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Follow OSHA and company safety standards.
• Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.
• Provide professional, courteous service to residents and vendors.
