Job summary

B5 Recruiting is partnering with a large property management organization to hire several Maintenance Technicians. You’ll perform maintenance across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and drywall while turning apartments, completing work orders, and keeping exterior areas clean.

This contract-to-hire role supports on-call rotations, requires 1–3+ years of residential maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and your own basic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–3+ years of maintenance experience in multifamily or residential properties.
• Experience with plumbing, basic electrical, appliance repair, carpentry/drywall, roofing and/or flooring.
• Ability to complete apartment turns, work orders, and preventive maintenance independently.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Own set of basic maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare apartments for new residents (turns & move-outs).
• Complete work orders efficiently and professionally.
• Keep exterior areas clean and well-presented (curb appeal).
• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance.
• Daily trash pickup and grounds upkeep.
• Maintain trash compactors and swimming pools (in season).
• Check irrigation systems.
• Maintain accurate records of work and materials used.
• Participate in the on-call maintenance rotation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Troubleshoot and repair: Plumbing.
• Basic electrical.
• Appliances.
• Carpentry & drywall.

You’ll work closely with our property management team and gain hands‑on experience in a variety of trades. This role will be a contract to hire opportunity.

Preferred

• HVAC/EPA, CFC, or CPO certification.
• Hands‑on HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.
