Job summary

Cortland is hiring a Maintenance Technician-Springs at Peachtree Corners to diagnose and repair building systems, perform preventive maintenance, and support asset preservation. You will interact with residents and team members to deliver safe, high-quality service and document work performed.

The role requires EPA certification (Type I, II, or Universal), a high school diploma or equivalent, and 1–3+ years in maintenance or related fields.

Qualifications

• EPA certification required (Type I, II, or Universal).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3+ years of maintenance, facilities, or multi-family housing experience.
• Strong technical skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, and general building systems.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple work orders.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to perform physical work including lifting, climbing ladders, and working indoors/outdoors.
• Willingness to participate in on-call schedules and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and resolve maintenance issues involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, appliances, flooring, stairs, rails, and other building components.
• Correct unsafe conditions such as broken lights, damaged gates, open holes, or other hazards, ensuring quick and safe resolution.
• Monitor and report on the condition of building and security systems like automatic doors and surveillance cameras.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC units, equipment, and building systems to improve performance and reduce downtime.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and spare parts to ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Respond to on-call rotations and emergency maintenance situations to assist residents and the property.
• Document completed work and report recurring issues or safety concerns to supervisor.
