Job summary

Cortland is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our multifamily communities safe, functional, and well‑maintained. You will diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and other systems, respond to urgent issues, and support preventative maintenance to preserve assets.

You will prioritize tasks, document work, and communicate effectively with residents and team members. This role requires on‑call availability and physical work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• EPA certification is required (Type I, II, or Universal).
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3+ years in maintenance, facilities, or multi-family housing.
• Strong technical skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and resolve issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and building components.
• Address unsafe conditions such as broken lights, damaged gates, and hazards quickly and safely.
• Monitor and report on the condition of building and security systems (doors, cameras).
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC units and building systems.
